SHE wowed judges and audiences with her super powered voice in ITV’s 2011 X Factor, in which she finished third.

Now Amelia Lily is coming to York Barbican to perform at the Miss York 2012 Grand Final on May 19.

Contest organiser Naomi Smith said she was delighted Amelia Lily would be singing at the final, which would be taking the form of a glamorous awards ceremony.

“Her performance will no doubt add to this,” she said. “I think she is an inspiration to a lot of young woman to follow their dreams, whatever they might be.”

Amelia Lily Is “Doing Fine”

Former ”X Factor” U.K.  finalist Amelia Lily had Twitter abuzz on March 21, 2012, after it was reported that she fainted at an “X Factor” concert that night at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, England.

News quickly spread over the Internet, and “Stay Strong Amelia Lily” became a trending topic on Twitter.

Lily, 17, responded with these messages on Twitter:

“Hey guys thanks for all the messages. Didn’t faint on stage!!!! Was unable to do encore but everything is fine thank you again for support.”

“Cannot believe ‘Amelia Lily is beautiful’ is trending, you guys are literally the cutest.”

Lily came in third place on “The X Factor” U.K. in 2011. She is currently on “The X Factor” U.K. 2012 tour, which ends in early April. She has signed a deal with Xenomania, a new Sony Music label. Her debut album is due out before the end of 2012.

Lily recorded a duet with “The X Factor” U.K. judge Kelly Rowland(who was Lily’s mentor on the show), but the name of the song has not yet been publicly revealed. The duet will most likely be on Lily’s album.

Amelia Lily Signs £500K Album Deal With Girls Aloud Hitmakers
Filed Under: News

We were always big fans of Amelia Lily and those big ol’ pipes of hers on last year’s X Factor and so despite not winning the competition (no bad thing – see JLS, One Direction and Cher Lloyd) we’re pleased to hear she’s gone and bagged herself a record deal to the tune of £500K for three albums.

And if that wasn’t exciting enough (yeah, yeah – we don’t get out much, ok?), we’re even more giddy at the news that she’s recording with the team behind all of Girls Aloud’s hits.

Now this is amazing for at least two reasons:

1. It takes the edge off the fact that Frankie Cocozza will have a No.1 hit before Cheryl and the girls ever get back together.

2. Amelia Lily’s voice + Girls Aloud-esque tunage = pop heaven.

What’s not to love?

Right, we’re off to listen to The Promise.
